The room is not furnished, but we still have a spare matraze and some other things to make it a bit more cosy for you if you want, lets talk about it then......
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
Our wonderful Villa Kakelbont is a very big flat with 185 qm.
We have a nice, cosy kitchen, which is our main meeting & hanging out area
Aside from that there are 2 bathrooms (1 with bathtub wuhuuu) and another separate toilette - veeery important in a flat with that many people if you wanna manage to be on time for work in the morning =)
Your room has 23 qm with windows on the backyard which means it's very quite. The room comes unfurnished, but the previous flatmate is leaving (if wished) the bed frame made of pallet (without mattress) and two couch/foutons.
It's a nice Altbau with Stuck and very high ceilings.
The flat is next to Platz der Luftbrücke, where you have very good transport connection to the center, to Neukölln, Kreuzberg, Schöneberg and basicly to all directions. We live theoretically in Tempelhof, but the other side of the street is Kreuzberg already =) So you're very close to the hip district - Bergmannkiez with nice cafes & restaurants, Markthalle, Viktoriaparkt where you have a wonderful panorama and of cooooourse Tempelhofer Feld is in front of our door which is just amazing for hanging out, skating, doing barbecues etc. in summer.
Sooooo we are not a students WG anymore with crazy parties and dirty dishes all the time - we all work more or less and have our "busy adult lifes" going on, but still we like to hang out & chat in the kitchen, cook together sometimes and drink a beer or 2 or 3 or...... Aditionally we have our wonderful "Feierabendbank" in front of the house, which is the perfect place to enjoy the last rays of sunshine together in summer.
We are a quite international bunch of people, speaking a mix of german and english most of the time at home, so it would be nice if you could also speak some german. Other languages are also very welcome - Kevin is practising Italian at the moment and Damaris would like to refresh her Spanish. Francesca still struggles a bit with German but she has the basis covered, and is attempting to learn a little Greek at the moment.
Your roomies will be:
Sander (31) originally from Amsterdam, speaks fluent English and German. Likes to wrench, undertaking random projects and beer. The party years were hard but appear to be over. Seldomly at home.
Damaris (35) working projectwise for moviesets in costume. In my freetime I like to do creative things like drawing, painting, sewing, singing in a choir or hanging out with friends, visit art exhibitions, cinema, sauna, rollerskate on tempelhofer, go clubbing sometimes & to festivals in summer (techno/ techhouse/ goa), do biketours in Brandenburg or backpacking travels mostly in Europe. My mothertongue is german and I also speak english and a bit of spanish.
Kevin (30) I would describe myself as a movement enthusiast who can laugh about a silly joke forever and at the same time I am hungry for deep and meaningful conversations. I am a warm hearted, sensitive person who ist always curious about life and interested in growing together. My free time I usually spend in the dance studio, working on dance choreographies or facing my inner demons and faeries in improvisations.
Francesca (33) I'm a good food and good wine lover, especially when combined to good company. I'm a versatile person and I enjoy discussing topics of any spectrum, from very serious to very silly. In my free time I enjoy cooking, going out with friends, reading (especially in summer at the park), sawing, binging TV series, travelling, listening to music (anything but techno - I know, I'm atypical for Berlin in this sense). Professionally, I freelance as digital transformation consultant, so I work from home when I'm in Berlin, but my job allows me to live the "digital nomad' life so there are weeks when I'm somewhere in Europe.
Write us if you...
…really really wanna live together with 4 other people because you enjoy company at home
…have some experience with living in shared flats
…are a nice, chilled, exciting, maybe creative, maybe queer person – all nationalities, genders, sexualities welcome
…work / have some income, because we are all Hauptmieter here
…are around 28 – 38 years old
…are fine with cleaning the kitchen once a month and for sure cleaning your mess after cooking
Don’t write us if…
…you’re actually looking for a flat because you wanna live alone, but you don’t find anything yet
…you’re not sure if you wanna stay in Berlin the next years
...you get Jobcenter money - sorry not possible because of the Hauptmieter thing
…you’re a 20 years old student, partying all the time
…you don’t know how to use a broom, vacuum cleaner, cleaning rag, mop
We are very excited hearing from you and we hope that you read this text until the end.
If so, please put the name of the person who originally lives in Villa Kakelbont in the very first sentence of your message.
