Also note we sometimes can be a bit nerdy/difficult persons (e.g. occasionally verbally aggressive, but at least not physically aggressive), and sometimes a bit confused, hence we recommend to close your room door at night (key will be provided). Ideally you are a bit "robust" personality to cope with it.

The additional costs are relatively low and assume that you will be economical (heating only when you are present and the windows are closed; normal electricity consumption). The additional costs also include electricity and internet. Internet while mostly working is occasionally not very strong especially in the evenings, i.e. sometimes I myself have to resort to tethering via mobile phone. In case you see adjustments to be made (e.g. you are a pro gamer and you anticipate to need more electricity) then we also can adjust based on your predictions (I don't intend to "make money" out of that).
Location:
The apartment is located in Mainz-Bischofsheim, approximately 1000 m from the train station.
There are good public transport connections (bus/train: S8/S9/RB75 to Frankfurt).
From Bischofsheim to Mainz, it takes approximately 10 minutes, and to Frankfurt, approximately 35 minutes.
Parking is available.
A Turkish grocery store is just a few meters from the apartment. Other grocery stores are also within walking distance (approximately 1.2 km).
Two middle-aged men (53 and 47), one a software engineer, working from home 1-2 days a week, one looking for a job (not here at this moment, but possibly returning). Everyone does their own thing, so there's not much social interaction (except for occasionally bumping into each other in the kitchen).
We do the bare minimum of cleaning/tidying, but we're not particularly fussy. The furnishings are generally simple. Sometimes there's a slight smell of cigarettes/weed (one of the residents smokes).
The majority of the house is occupied by families, so please respect quiet hours.
Generally tolerant, but if you're a fan of Höcke/Putin/Al Khamenei, it might not be ideal. (Democratic-minded persons/liberal Muslims/opposition Russians, on the other hand, are welcome; Ukrainians and Israelis are welcome anyway. Before you get the wrong impression, we don't talk politics very much, and everyone generally goes their own way, but I have no desire to share an apartment with an extremist.)
Initial contact is preferably via email or phone at ----/-------. Please mention in the email that you understand that this is only an interim lease until August 31, 2025. Your email doesn't have to be long or "perfect"; it's only an interim lease, so we won't overcomplicate things. Written and/or oral communication can be in German, English or French.
This is subletting, for transparency, I can provide you a copy (PDF) of the contract with the landlord and me. If you need paperwork to register in Bischofsheim formally, as this is subletting, then that is coming from my landlord. My landlord will need a copy of your ID card for that and a subletting contract (I use a standard one from a template).
