The room is 15 square meters and it is currently being occupied by me and should be free from February on. Next January our flatmate will leave for Bremen and we will enter renovations where the Kitchen, the small bathroom and the Hallway will be completely renovated for something nice :D
It is next to the kitchen, the heating works fine and it is quite spacious. When our flatmate leaves she might want to leave a couple of furniture behind (still hasn't decided). If you want an unfurnished room feel free to take a look as what interests you. If you want to bring your own stuff and don't want to keep anything, feel free to give it away on Ebay.
You couldn't ask for a better location. The WG is 6 mins walking from the Barmbek stop where you have the U3 which goes around the city center and the S1 which goes directly to the airport + a lot of buses.
In terms of supermarkets we have Rewe, Aldi and a biological supermarket 5 mins away next to the train station. There are about a dozen of restaurants in a 5 min radius from the WG, two kiosks, a couple of barbers, pharmacies and banks. You are also 15 mins walking from the Stadtpark which is quite nice.
Moin! We are:
- Appy, 27, comes from India, currently studying Biochemistry and on her free time has to study :|
- Jhay, 25, comes from Iceland, currently working in Sales and on his free time likes to go to the gym
- Max, 24, comes from Portugal, currently working as a Researcher and on his free time plays rugby
This quite an international WG and the only requirement is that you'd feel ok for speaking English. Two of us speak German but to make everyone comfortable we would ask this. Obviously we won't discriminate against anyone's nationality, religion or background, just no Fascists (or adjacent, "National Conservatives", "Identitarians" and all that drivel).
We were thinking of prioritizing having a girl just to have gender balance again, but this is also not an absolute must.
NB people are more than welcome to write to us. This is a WG open to any LGBTQ+ person.
We welcome students, working-students or workers.
We are quite a well functioning WG. Unfortunately all of us have completely different schedules and are not able to do a whole lot together. Hopefully when the Summer comes we will have more energy to restart doing more stuff. Currently each other has their own rhythm, their own privacy and we just chat in the Kitchen while we're cooking / eating.
Each has their own food, space in the fridge and in the dispensary and is responsible for that. Obviously utensils are all shared and we don't have a cleaning / buying schedule we follow religiously, we most just clean and buy house stuff from time to time and register it on a paper on the kitchen. As far as we see there is a balance and it seems no one is not pulling their weight.
If you get the room our landlady requires

- Proof of income (preferably last 3 months—either their own or the guarantor’s)
- For students: direct liability guarantee
- Schufa (jetzt beantragen) report
- (ID required upon signing the contract)
As I've written, there are renovations going to happen in January and the room is for February onward. If you want you can try to negotiate the entry date with our landlady but before 01.02.2025 seems very difficult.
We'll be mostly gone for a while doing Christmas time, so interviews will only be possible in the end of December / early January. We could do it online or in person, whatever seems better. Our plan is to contact applicants mid-December and schedule the interviews for this time-space. Anything feel free to reach out!
