Sunny room for rent in Mühlau 🌲☀️
(Updated text)
After our dear friend and WG-family-kid Giordano leaves back to France, we are looking for a new flatmate who would like to join our cosy and harmonious home :)
We value a friendly, sociable and relaxed atmosphere. We respect the privacy and needs of our flatmates, but we are also happy to share activities and conversations.
- A small but cozy room of approx. 10.5 m2
- with a south facing balcony with a view on some trees, the city and the Stubai Alps in the background (we grew some vegetables on this balcony last summer)
- You can see the location of the room marked in the floorplan (s. pictures)
- Room available from March 1st
- you can potentially take over a bed and a desk (not in the photos)
- we are primarily looking for a woman/FLINTA* to have a better balance
The flat is generously proportioned and offers plenty of space for everyone. The centrepiece of the flat is a common room, which we use as our living room when it’s not warm enough outside. Otherwise, our favourite gathering spaces are our 3 lovely balconies facing W, S and E, one of which is accessible from the kitchen and from your future room. There are 2 bathrooms, an additional WC, plenty of storage space and a cellar compartment.
Just tell us a bit about yourself, how you imagine life in a shared flat and whether you already have a shared flat experience :)
Location of the flat:
Welcome to Mühlau: Half village, half city - something for everyone and definitely the new ‘place to be’ in Innsbruck.
The bus stop is right outside the door (13 minutes to the main train station), as are a petrol station, a Mini M and a pharmacy. The city centre can be reached by bike in 10-15 minutes and on the other side, the Nordkette mountain range is right outside the door. The Mühlbach stream flows behind the house, where you can splash around in the summer. Mühlau is a lively and diverse neighbourhood that offers many opportunities for leisure, culture and sport.
Who are we?
Andrew (29) is Welsh with a background in Geography, he has done EVERYTHING but nothing with it. He now works at the Irish Pub several evenings per week. He is a motivated skier & snowboarder, always keen to catch some fresh lines and he loves mountain biking. Andrew is practical, politically minded and a good improviser. He speaks mainly English (Welsh and some Spanish) but is working on his German (sometimes). He is always up for a joke and has a good sense of humour.
Andrea (27) is from Germany, has studied environmental engineering and is currently working as a remote PhD student. She is curious, spontaneous and extroverted. She likes bouldering/climbing, snowboarding and cycling and is crazy about spikeball (if you think that's weird, then you don't know what a great sport it is). Currently she's out of order though due to a knee injury. She is always open to new experiences and challenges and has a positive outlook on the world and her knee.
Pablo (30) is an architect, born and raised in Madrid. He moved back to Innsbruck last year after his Erasmus here back in 2016. In his free time, he is active in the mountains, loves skiing and ski touring, climbing, road biking, running and yoga, but also enjoys a guilt free siesta or spending the day relaxing on the couch, looking for good memes.
Paula (24), from Germany, is studying Geosciences at the university. She has spent a lot of time travelling in the last few years. She loves being in the mountains, enjoys winter sports and hiking and spends her free time writing and taking photos. She is a super relaxed and open-minded person who likes to meet new people and is always open to joint activities.
Alex (25) from Tirol is studying physics and medicine. He enjoys cycling, skiing and ski touring, but also likes going to the theatre, the Bäckerei or the cinema and even more concerts.
Gerti (28), from Germany, is working at the Alpine Convention. He is very active between work and a well maintained mountain life. He enjoys running and hikes a lot in the summer, as well as skiing and sledging in the winter. He likes good jokes and loves to chill on the couch watching a movie with other people.
We are open to everything and everyone and are super spontaneous people who enjoy doing lots of things and being outdoors. We've all lived in sociable shared flats for years, and all have been living together for a year now. We would describe ourselves as laid back and enjoy activities with our flatmates such as games evenings, bouldering, skiing together, beers (or orange juice) etc. Anything is possible but not a must!
We share all our food and have each day a different person cooking for everyone else. The meals we eat together are all vegetarian, so you would need to be ok with cooking without meat and not eating any during common meals (that doesn't mean you can't have any on your own). We live by the motto ‘sharing is caring’ and are very relaxed about it :)
We look forward to getting to know you! :)
Andrew, Paula, Pablo, Gerti, Alex & Andrea
