The ESG dormitory is a private, recently renovated student dormitory that's modern, super clean, and cozy. My room, located on the ground floor, is part of a friendly unit with 7 rooms in total—shared with 3 girls and 3 boys, with ages between 20 to 25. You’ll have a big, shared kitchen with two fridges, an oven, a microwave, a toaster, and a cook.
You’ll enjoy the privacy of your own toilet and shower, which is newly renovated, and I’ve kept them extra clean—I’d appreciate it if you kept up the same habit! The dorm also offers great facilities, including washing machines, dryers, and freezers in the basement.
The room is fully furnished, with a bright and airy feel thanks to a large window overlooking the green backyard. It includes plenty two shelves, one big closet, a desk, a chair, and a bed with a mattress. The walls and door are well soundproofed, providing a peaceful environment perfect for studying or relaxing. Plus, you’ll have access to two seminar rooms in the basement, perfect for studying or hosting movie nights with the video projector and speakers!
Beyond your room, ESG has a café and a big hall where parties and social events are often held—great places to meet residents from other floors.
This temporary stay will give you the time and peace of mind to settle into Cologne and possibly apply for a long-term contract at ESG, where you could stay for up to 4 years. It’s a fantastic inclusive, international community to be part of!
The dorm has a super central location. The University of Cologne, the student Mensa, and the library are all less than a 10-minute walk away, so you’ve got everything you need close by.
Getting around is easy too—bus lines 136 and 146, along with tram lines 1, 7, and 9, can take you straight to Neumarkt or the central station. If you’re up for a walk, the city center is just 20 minutes on foot.
For groceries, Aldi is only a 3-minute walk, and Rewe is just around the corner. It’s a great spot for student life with everything within reach!
Hi, I’m Media, and I’m looking for someone to sublet my room at ESG student dormitory. I’ve lived here for 2 years, but since I’ve finished my studies, I’m moving out. My contract is valid until the end of March 2025, so the sublet period would be from late December/early January until the end of March.
To be eligible, you must have student status. After this sublet period, you can apply for a room at ESG, and temporary subtenants often have a higher chance of getting their applications approved—this has been the case for many residents here.
