Dear room seekers, as I am leaving for my research, from Janury (can also be February) to May, I am subrenting my lovely room in a renovated apartment with 2 great housemates. I need to stay registered at the address so NO ANMELDUNG (registration with the city) is possible. Please only contact me if it's fine with you. The dates are a bit flexible, so feel free to contact me and we can discuss but I am ideally looking for someone to subrent for 4-5 months.
The room is about 19m² in size and has 2 large windows, which makes it nice and bright. It also has parquet floors and high ceilings. Importantly, I am only leaving for a few months, so the room will stay furnished (bed with good mattress, desk, big wardrobe, sofa, drawers, kallax), you will only need to bring your clothes and move in. I will leave some things in the room but they will not bother you and there wil be plenty of storage space.
The apartment is approx. 100 square meters in size and is divided into three equally sized rooms, all of which face the street to the south. In addition we have two bathrooms (3 sinks!) and a kitchen with an adjoining balcony, where we sit together in summer and drink a wine/beer or gin and tonic. The small bathroom has a shower and the large one has a bathtub. The kitchen also has everything you need for living needs.
In the house there are only shared flats. We also have a house WhatsApp chat, which we use from time to time to exchange things like plants, tools, etc.
The price is 354, including everything, so no additional costs for you. Because I am leaving all my furniture in the room, I ask for a deposit of 500 eur which will be returned to you upon moving out, providing everything is in order.
The west of Leipzig is great. The location of the shared flat is perfect - everything you need is within easy reach: Kaufland, dm, pharmacies and the lively Karl-Heine Straße with lots of cool bars and restaurants are just around the corner. The Karl-Heine-Kanal and the Palmengarten are right next door for relaxing, walking, jogging or whatever. There is a lot to discover in the area: from small studios and exhibitions to cute cafés and lots of flea markets. It's also easy to get everywhere from here. The university is about 10 minutes away by bike, the sports campus just 3 minutes and you can also get there quickly by train. From the Angerbrücke stop, lines 3, 7, 8 and 15 take you to the main train station, the city center or the university in just a few minutes.
You will be sharing the flat with 2 great, fun, caring housemates.
Malin, 30, Slytherin, is sometimes housemother/house demon and always up for meaningful or pointless conversations. She has a cool job at an educational startup in Potsdam, so she commutes approx. 3 days a week. Before that, she studied "something to do with media" in Weimar and Lyon. She has been living in Leipzig for over 5 years now. She would describe herself as "modern witch/baking fairy with France in her heart and a love of Karl Lagerfeld, media studies and wine". She also enjoys jogging, drawing and crafting from time to time or sinking into a book.
Jolyn, 25, booknerd (especially fantasy), Ravenclaw and the #chaoticroommate of the WG. She is in her 5th semester studying book and media management at the HTWK. Her big passion is Latin American dances and she is a part-time Bachata dance teacher. She loves doing sports - whether it's yoga, workouts or jumping around the apartment. Otherwise, however, she likes to take it easy with a cup of tea, some music and a bit of writing.
We can be a bit chaotic (not when it comes to cleanliness though, thanks to Malin!), but we have fun together. Instagram reels, Vines, movies or videos on YouTube are regularly quoted without warning. Also, don't be surprised if one of us is lying on the floor somewhere in the apartment for no reason (usually Jolyn), sighing melodramatically or someone suddenly starts singing loudly. Fantasy/mythology is also a frequent topic. We also like to go jogging together, go for coffee or have spontaneous movie nights with popcorn and tea. At the top of the list are films such as Van Helsing, Emma (2020), Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Charlie's Angels (2019).
Cleanliness and tidiness are very important to us, at least in the communal areas of the apartment.
If you are interested in getting to know us and the apartment, please get in touch with a short description of yourself and how you imagine communal living in a shared flat.
We look forward to meeting you =)
Olga, Jolyn and Malin
P.S. Please only get in touch if you are really (over) 25.
