The room is 12,4 m2, square and accessible from the living room. Is has big north facing windows and is generally well-lit with natural light. We can offer a bed (90x200), shelves, a drawer, a desk, a chair and a desk lamp. If you are missing anything else, we are happy to help you find more furniture second-hand.
We have included a couple of fotos of the room and you can see the dimensions in the floor plan.
In addition to your room there is a big common area with a combined kitchen and living room. There is a big dinner table and a cozy sofa area, where we like to chill. The living room also opens up to our balcony, where we tried growing loads of veggies this past summer. There is one bathroom and a separate toilet.
The flat is very nicely situated in terms of accessibility: the S45, which runs between Hütteldorf and Handelskai, is within 2 min walking distance. The U3 station Hütteldorferstraße is 10 min, and the U4 station Hietzing 15 minutes by foot. There are also several tram lines (49, 52, 60, 10) and bus lines in close proximity. As is usual for Vienna - everywhere in the city is pretty much accessible within 30 min.
There is several supermarkets at walking distance (3-7 min). The neighborhood is a living area and there are generally not very many cafés or shops (except supermarkets) around. However with the Sargfabrik - an integrative living project - we have a cultural center around the corner, where you can enjoy world music and an indoor swimming pool and sauna. There is also a weekly market on Thursdays with fresh produce and specialties and oftentimes live music.
In terms of parks and nature there is a small park close to our flat, but major recreational areas are easily accessible: Schönbrunn is about a 15 minutes walk away, and the Wienerwald with places such as Lainzer Tiergarten or Steinhofgründe can be reached by public transport within 20 min.
Hi, we are Lea and Erik!
Since Lea is moving to Denmark for an internship, there will be space for a new lovely person in the apartment. So, it will be mostly Erik that you will be sharing the apartment with, apart from the month of March, which is before Lea leaves for Denmark and the occasional visit.
Therefore, Erik is going to present himself in a few words here...
Hi, I am originally from Aarhus, Denmark. This is also where Lea and I met during her Erasmus semester. Shortly afterwards I moved here and I have been living in Vienna for about 3.5 years now. I speak German at a pretty reasonable level at this point, so whether you prefer English or German or Danish ;) is fine for me.
We have also found that Austrian and Danish humor a quite similar - I am a big fan of the TV series "Braunschlag".
Altogether I have many years of shared-living experience in many different constellations and very much enjoy this lifestyle. I am also very easy-going when it comes to living together and would like if you were too. I would like for us to hang out together, maybe cook together from time to time or do other kinds of activities, like discovering the city (if you are not a local), going to the cinema or playing board games if you are into that. There should of course also be space for privacy and respect for a closed door. Generally, it would be important to me to create a nice, friendly environment in the flat, where we feel like we can talk openly with one another.
I go to my weekly choir practice and I am currently trying out rope climbing, I also very much enjoy hiking (appreciating the mountains, cause we don't have any in DK), I like to play chess, and I am generally interested in many different topics and always up for a chat or friendly discussion.
I am looking forward to you message and learning something about you!
We are very much looking forward to hearing about yourself, what brings you to Vienna and how you would ideally imagine living together looks like. Send us a message, if you feel that it could be a fit and we are happy to get in touch with you!
The availability of the room is not necessarily running out with September this year, but we cannot say for sure how much longer either of us will be living in Vienna at this point.
Both online visitations and in person are possible - we prefer in person, since it is usually nicer :)
