Hi there,
There's a vacancy for 9 months in one room in my 2 bedroom apt in Friedrichshain from April to December 2025 (1.4.2025 - 31.12.2025). I live in the other room when in Berlin, but won't be in town from August to December 2025 (1.8.2025 - 31.12.2025). So I am looking for a responsible woman (or female-identifying person) who wants to rent the second room in my flat (2 br) for the entire period (9 months), share the apartment with me from April - July 2025, and with an occupant of my room from August - December in whose selection you would be involved. I will return to Berlin in January 2026.
Your room has windows pointing to the South and is appr. 20 sqm large, furnished with 1 double bed, one cabinet, a writing desk, a coat rack, a comfy couch and two potted palms. There's lots of light and a beautiful view on Karl-Marx-Allee.
The apartment is situated in one of the historical "Stalinallee" buildings on Karl-Marx-Allee. There is an elevator, lots of parking space, a nice community in the house, and a small farmer's market twice a week down the road. It's a 3 minute walk to the next subway stop (U5 - either Strausberger Platz or Weberwiese), a 5 minute subway ride to Alexanderplatz, ten minute bike ride to F'hain or X-Berg, and 15 minute walk to Volkspark Friedrichshain.
I am looking for a person who has shared flat experience. The place is all about "live and let live," "rest and recharge," and is best suited for people with an active work life (Berufstätigen-WG). We usually take turns in buying toilet paper, but otherwise there are no flat rules (except for decency and common sense). You can find each other in the kitchen or go your separate ways thanks to the symmetrical location of the rooms at the other end of a corridor - whatever suits you. I can't accommodate more than one person per room, and no pets are allowed, sorry.
The bed comes with a comforter, pillows, and bed linen. You can get a set of towels if needed. The communal areas (kitchen and bathroom) are stocked with all necessary appliances, there is no dish washer, but a washing machine.
The rent also includes DSL and the pro rata costs for weekly cleaning of the apartment by Marïa who comes every Wednesday between 1 pm and 3 pm. We vacate the apartment for her during that time.
I would make a photocopy of your ID and you should have liability insurance that covers you in the event of accidental damage to the apartment caused by you (this is not about pots breaking but major damage to the flat). There is a deposit of €750, which you will get back after you move out.
The room can be viewed during a Zoom interview or a personal visit. Write a few lines about yourself and what brings you to Berlin and I'll get back to you in any case.
Cheers,
Anne
